The bulk properties of a powder have a huge impact on the downstream processing properties (filterability, dryability, flowability, etc.) or formulation (bulk density, impurities, etc) of a drug substance. Having control of the crystallization process is essential in order to consistently obtain the material with the desired properties.

Crystallics has the right systems and equipment to help its customers understand and control crystallization processes and thus gain insight into how to improve yield, control particle size and habit, and reduce process time. Emphasis is given to investigating the compound's crystallization behavior and identifying the parameters influencing such behavior. The experiments are performed at a scale of a few ml up to a maximum of 4 litres.

We work closely with our customers' process development or pilot plant groups in order to optimize the relevance and effectiveness of the research project and to facilitate the technology transfer afterwards.
